1. History of Hasht Behesht Palace in Isfahan

Isfahan and its kings during the Safavid period. Shah Abbas, the first king of the Safavid dynasty, chose Isfahan as his capital. One of his decisions to make Isfahan his empire was to build a road called Chaharbagh and build gardens there. Unfortunately, none of these gardens remain except the Forty Seton Gardens and Hasht Behesht Gardens. In Persian the word Hasht Behesht means Gate of Heaven. Hasht Behesht Palace was built in 1669 and was long called "the most beautiful palace in the world".

During the Qajar period, the garden was handed over to the first lady, Iftikhar al-Dawla, under the condition that the building's architecture not be altered, but later after her death, the garden was inherited by her heirs and underwent many changes. He enlisted the help of Iranian and Italian architects and architects to revive the beautiful ornamentation under the plasterwork of the Qajar period. What you see today from Isfahan's Hasht Behesht Palace is a building that has undergone many changes over the ages. But it is one of the most beautiful palaces in Iran
 

2. The architecture of Hasht Behesht Palace, Isfahan

It is a two storied building. This palace is built with a height of 30 meters on Tabrizi marble stone 2 meters from the ground. You can enter the palace balcony by two staircases on either side of the building. There are balconies with tall wooden pillars decorated with eye-catching plasterwork. The central part of the palace was built in four steps and its verandah faced north. The ceiling is covered with magnificent stucco, called mogran in Persian. The rooms on the second floor in the four corners of the building are decorated with paintings. Several balconies, rooms, arches and windows on the second floor of the building add to its beauty. This floor is divided into corridors and rooms, each with special decorations. Some of these rooms have water fountains and wall heaters. The walls are also decorated with mirrors.
The architecture of the building is derived from Iranian gardens and has many similarities with unique gardens such as Chehal Seton and Alikapo. It is shaped like an octagon, so it has four sides. Although the views are similar, they are usually constructed differently from each other. But the original view of the building facing the pool on the side.

In the center of the hall is an octagonal pool known as the pearl made of marble. The pool is carved, with water flowing from holes in a pearl-like design. The luxurious and beautiful park that was built around the palace.
